Staying Relevant to Real Estate Investing Students
As a real estate investing trainer, you want the best of both worlds: To have your name on the lips of your students and have a life that gives you the freedom to slip away with family for vacations. These two goals don’t have to be mutually exclusive if you plan ahead.
You know that your students are accustomed to hearing from you regularly. If you suddenly stop communicating with them — even for a couple of weeks — your relationship could be damaged. While some of your students won’t mind if you don’t send them messages for a couple of weeks, others will.
But they won’t send you a passionate email accusing you of ignoring their needs.

Instead, they’ll do something even more damaging: They’ll move on to another trainer that they think might be more responsive to their wants or needs. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong — but that’s just the way it is.
There’s a simple solution to this problem that most of you know all too well. That’s right, your trusty and often overworked friend: the autoresponder.
If you don’t have an account, get one. They’re cheap — and reliable. The least expensive paid option that I know of — and one of the best — is available from aWeber.
That doesn’t, however, completely solve your problem. You still have to plug information into your autoresponder before you leave. It takes a little time, but you need to find the time. If your schedule is jam-packed up until you need to leave, hire someone to craft good emails that can be scheduled to go out while you’re away.
Another option is to take material that you’ve previously utilized and send it out on a scheduled drip. Maybe you have an ebook, an audio, or a special report that’s just taking up space on your hard drive. Instead of wasting it, put it to good use.
Real estate investing education presents some quality of life challenges, but sending emails shouldn’t be such a large problem that you should cancel your vacation or have your family go without you.
Unless you really don’t want to experience some of the cultural activities available in a far-away land.
But that’s a discussion for another day.
